Buddy Attick Park: five minutes away is a park with a wonderful lakeside trail, basketball courts, and playgrounds. In high school this was Allison's favorite place to run.

Billy Goat Trail at Great Falls: about a 45 minute drive away is a 4.7-mile hiking trail that follows a path between the C&O Canal and the Potomac River.
The trail has three sections: Section A of the trail has the best views but traverses rough and rocky terrain, including scrambling over boulders. It is, in our opinion, the best day hike in the area
